El Salvador Still Going Strong

Three years later El Salvador is still bitcoin and doing really well. Their Bitcoin stack is back all in the green, they first started buying bitcoin around 60-68kusd. The economy is growing and crime has dropped. It appears that bitcoin might be fixing this.

I wouldn't normally post a flag, but this one has done well.

I will be visiting sometime soon and will leave my thoughts with you.

Doubling Down on Ocean Going UP

I'm not sure if this is tattoo-worthy, but there is some good art inspiration possible. Anyway, this a reminder that all my sketches are open source, take them mod them, make them better with AI, I don’t mind. Just mine with Ocean this coming winter. It's a big pool that puts you in control.

Buy Bitcoin or Maybe Never Eat Fish Again

With nuclear-powered subs being thrown around the ocean tin foil hats might actually come in handy Australia contracting the USA and UK to build nuclear subs to apparently "defend" themselves in the South China Sea, I am feeling a little bit concerned. This is nuclear escalation if you ask me.

The main tactical factor of a nuclear sub in my opinion, is not just that they can stay underwater, it is that your opponents can't shoot at one without risking destroying the ocean around you for possibly 10,000 years. Subs can fire at an opponent from hiding, it could be anywhere, and when it attacks, you don't even know what you are shooting at or from what country they come from. In this way it is close to a terrorist weapon. I think that there's no moral justification for this type of weapon. Anyone who chooses knowingly to wield such a vindictive tool is not morally acceptable.

So here go the nation-states with the villainy, and on top of that we now have a nuclear energy narrative growing with powerplant investments by Microsoft and Amazon. These new power plants to be used for AI data centers. Ironic since the news and government was persecuting Bitcoin mining for using comparably less energy than they say they need now. I'm not anti-nuclear energy. The more watts the better but AI is basically a fiat bubble. It's nice to have easy art, coding and quick but suspect search answers though hardly compares to the human impact of sound money. Really the AI will be used for tax collecting, narrative control and disodent detection. So it's just like Government mining, and of course they think it's ok despite the blaring contradiction. State and big media only last year were saying private bitcoin miners were boiling the ocean

It used to be taboo to use energy in a data centre like this, maybe will be less so now. I think the mining love is growing. AI and Bitcoin mining centres are being built as it is beneficial to have both in one location. I wan't to see more home miners and more home AI systems for a decentralised future. More nuclear power plants are ok, but let's just hope the government don't blow them up. The governments are degenerating so much they should not be trusted alone with advanced technology. I hope I don't see them manifest their own trope, I am not keen on freshly cooked radioactive fish from the sub wreck.

Governments end up boiling the oceans, not bitcoin.

Let's Decentralise Bitcoin Mining

Bitcoin mining has become more centralised. The Antpool Bitmain monopoly needs to be resisted.  FPPS and all its fiat variations need to go eventually. Let's decentralise mining, check out https://ocean.xyz/

Satoshi Retirement

So "retirement" is not the right word, graduating from work life, FIRE, minimal living, freedom, self actualization, choose your pill. I'm not sure what your preference is, but we all want to focus on what we are good at and not have to worry too much about compensation. Graduation from slave life must be close, I hope, now how many bitcoin do we need?

In this exercise, I will ignore appreciation of the asset, aka NGU technology (number go up) pumpamentals. How many satishis per hour do you need before you die. But with the price at around $60KUSD one btc per year allocated now, seems ruffly reasonable. Especially since you know it will cover inflation and probably go up more, so your yearly budget can get a bit fatter. 1btc/year = 11415 sats per hour with a 24-hour day = 3 Sats a second. Feels like you could almost make that in zaps on nostr! But getting more real, considering our tip rate on Blogger, for an 8 hours x 5 days work week it comes to 13sats per second, 48077 per work hour, or currently around $30 an hour work spend equivalent.  So you need as many btc as you have years left to live if you can handle this budget. It is not great and it could be hard to save up this amount, especially if you're young, it might be 70 btc

Really we know the GNG tech will not fail and that we can include the growth of the asset base in our figures. In traditional finance, there is a rule of thumb for living off your assets where you can spend 4% per year. So if you want to retire starting at 1 btc per year you would need only 25 bitcoin.

Jeff Ross thinks you can double the rule of thumb for Bitcoin to 8% per year, because bitcoin has had such a great return and we can expect this to continue. That means you can cut the requirement down to 12.5 btc! that's $778,352??? What??? That seems LIke FIRE for many people!

So yes, you might want more than 60KUSD per year, but whatever it is it still seems quite low. My friend once told me he thought he needed 10 figures in the bank to quit working like a slave ($10MUSD+). You wouldn't normally think to retire off of $800KUSD at the moment, but maybe you would if it was converted to Bitcoin.

Silent Happyness Meta and the Meaning of LIfe

Words are made from metaphors, It can be hard to grok this, Even the thought on it can seem ephemeral. The very structure of our thought floats away as we try to describe it. We use words that themselves are made of metaphors, which could be a gesture or a feeling but which we can only describe on this page with words. So then those metaphors are made of metaphors. It's about as 'meta as you can get, but I think understanding this 'meta' is powerful in many ways.

I can describe the word "happyness" as lightness and warmth in the heart, fulfillment of the mind. I could also just copy a dictionary definition.

Happiness, in psychology, a state of emotional well-being that a person experiences either in a narrow sense, when good things happen in a specific moment, or more broadly, as a positive evaluation of one’s life and accomplishments overall—that is, subjective well-being. Happiness can be distinguished both from negative emotions (such as sadness, fear, and anger) and also from other positive emotions (such as affection, excitement, and interest). This emotion often co-occurs with a specific facial expression: the smile.

Oh Britannica what a riddle of words, the last part though.. that's concise! "Happiness" is a concept that without words you would express with a little head wiggling and a smile on your face. What is a "smile" it's a "U" shape.

WTF IS THIS CRAZZYNESS!!

To bring in our bitcoin metaphors as is becoming a habit in these posts, let's think about code again. In code a word or an expression is made up of binary. And it just so happens that binary is a very basic metaphor. It can be expressed by the presence or the absence of a thing. A person without speaking, can put a thing on the table in front of you, look you in the eye, put it behind their back, look you in the eye again, then hold it in their hand and make a question gesture. Now you have a binary proposition, a binary metaphor without words.

For most programmers looking at binary does not convey much meaning and even if it does it takes a long time to figure it out. You might be able to pick up numbers, letters and basic instructions, but you would need to read a long line and then put it all together to see the functional meaning of it and this would take a lot more time than looking at the higher levels of code.

Similarly, it's easy to lose the meaning of a word because we are stacking metaphors. Doing iterative cycles, getting meta, even in the act of speaking, and you can lose track of which layer, which inception, is the base layer, is closest to the source, this is what makes good communication such a challenge. The base layer is the most true, with every layer of abstraction, each loop, and with the 'embed codes' you get distortion and noise, more possibilities for errors and vulnerabilities. So as in computer programming and code the same thing can happen in language and communication.  We also see this in the evolution of the law, physics, and nature, but that is another blog post, for now, I just want to get into how this is fundamental in our thinking.

So.. how about we use this to do something productive!!??.... Suck on this ChatGPT. "What is the meaning of life?" I am going to write my answer and then see what the AI's answer is, no strike that I will use my self-hosted AI! I am predicting that it will be a long yucky one from the AI machines because I don't think it has Grok'd the fundamentals metaphors of language yet and that it is hamstrung by the binary metaphor, where humans have metaphors that are much more varied and in a way multidimensional.

To me the meaning of life is simple, it can be answered in the same way you would answer the meaning of any other word.  This leads me to think the meaning of life is simply, to create more life.

To explain this I can define a 'word' as a tool used to bring on the idea of that which it describes, and the context, where generally the whole of humanity is the broadest view.

Now what does the AI say?

Marx-3b-V2 says

"The meaning of life can be understood in many ways. It’s a complex concept that involves understanding our purpose, goals and values on this planet. The idea behind it also includes exploring different perspectives to find happiness within ourselves or with others around us.

Life is an ongoing process where we are constantly evolving and learning new things about the world around us. This constant change can be seen as a positive thing because it allows for growth, adaptation, and improvement in our lives. However, there’s also negative aspects to life such as death or loss of loved ones which could potentially cause depression if not properly managed by therapy or other forms of treatment available today.

The meaning of life is often subjective and varies from person to person based on their beliefs, values, experiences, etc. Some people may believe that the purpose of life is simply to survive while others might think it’s more about finding happiness within themselves through personal growth or contributing positively towards society by doing good deeds like helping those in need without expecting anything in return."

Ahaha, it sucks so much it is almost a glitch. When you only have binary I suspect it is difficult to think. You end up throwing up long-winded definitions with more and more nested contradictions.

Human metaphor in contrast to this mechanical binary logic, is so it turns out metaphysical. We defined a word with itself again, but somehow we can comprehend that loop and it is clear. A fractal structure that makes sense. Metaphysics comes to a point where they cross over with normal physics and this is at the quantum level. Here comes Schrodinger's cat, or as bitcoiners, is it more like the Bazentine general's problem? Some will just say it's word salad. I don't want to fall into the same trap that Marx-3b-V2 did.

Either way, our thoughts can easily be held in a state of superposition, and this allows for better definitions and more accurate communication. Something less defined can often be more defined. A word can be formed through gestures that are wordless, and undefinable. Even without knowing it, we are quantum and different from the AI, because we can handle the meta loops. We can see a structure of fractals and accept a possibility for accuracy. Computers find this difficult, they often just regard more lines of code as more accurate.

I think humans can always have an edge on AI because of this and I hope this helps others be empowered with clearer thought now. There are many questions left they can go on indefinitely, but happiness, and the meaning of life are best left to rest in their own metaphor now. Thanks for reading.

Useful Hunting Analogies for Catching Goals

I'm not such a fan of bitcoiners using stories that emphisize the power of war, violence and weapons technology. They are not wrong, but I prefer to think of the power of peace, honor, trust and defensive technology, but... just thinking about hunting analogies and I have to admit, they seem useful.

Such a primal concept that many people can understand can be useful for business strategy. Leadership and hunting seem like such a good combo.

Hunting involves different methods of manipulating an environment and act to catch and control a chaotic unpredictable, yet clear goal. We have time, various 'tool' types and psychology of two beings going on, here's some.

1. The set the hidden trap method.

2. The chase it down with persistence, focus and more endurance.

3. The secret silent arrow snipe after quietly sneaking to position in the bush.

4. The generous amo automatic gun rampage, no accuracy but many attempts and just keep going.

5. The full on, face to face wrestle it down with brute force and a dagger method.

6. The bait in the pen or on a hock on the line.

7. The chase the heard off a cliff

8. Using hunting dogs

9. A traditional compromise of 3 and 4 with a 5 held in reserve if the beast comes for you.

There are probably many more. I think it's useful to pick one for whatever goal you might have. I think they are useful even when you look into them further, telling the story of the hunt. At the moment I am going with method 2.
